Joshua Johnson named Rio Verde Firefighter of the Year

Fountain Hills Rotary Club marked its 25th year of honoring first responders who serve the surrounding area at its luncheon on Tuesday, March 10.

Josh's peers cited many accomplishments as they voted him Firefighter of the Year.  Among them were his roles as Firewise Coordinator and Wildland Strike Team Leader, his work creating two memorial videos for RVFD personnel, managing all EMS supplies for the District and serving as an Inspector under the Fire Marshal.  Most recently, Josh has been instrumental in streamlining our transition to a new EMS and Fire incident tracking platform. He is the primary programmer responsible for working through the integration process. He has created or modified forms for patient care reporting, quality control, medication, apparatus, and inspections among others.  With all of these things he also found time to train and mentor others.

Congratulations Josh!  This honor is well deserved.
