Emergency Medical Systems

The Rio Verde Fire District provides Paramedic level Advanced Life Support services to the Verdes communities and our mutual aid partners 24 hours per day 7 days a week. Our Department typically staffs 4 paramedics and 2 Emergency Medical technicians per shift per day. The Rio Verde Fire District is recognized by the Arizona Department of Health Services as a Premier Provider of Emergency Medical Services and our Paramedics are the only department medically based and supervised by the Mayo Clinic Hospital

Our paramedic staff is trained and certified in:              

ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support

ATT-Advanced Assessment &Treatment of Trauma

CPR-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for professionals

Advanced Airway Skills-Including CPAP, Endotracheal Intubation, Cricothyrotomy

Pharmacology-Paramedics carry medications to treat patients for a variety of emergency conditions including:

Pain Relief-Chest Pain, Fractures

Cardiac complications-Cardiac Arrest, dysrythmias, Tachycardias, AMI

Seizures

Asthma, COPD

Allergic reactions

IV Therapy

Physical Assessment-Blood Pressure, Pulse, 4 lead & 12 lead EKG, Lung Sounds, Neurological assessment, Capnography, Pulse Oxymetry
